I could care less about what these kids said, but this was just rude. What difference does it make if an Asian bleaches their hair compared to an American? How does that make them fake and not us?
OH MY GOD WHO ARE THESE KIDS. jkdcldsa; God, they make me SO mother effing irritated.
What’s interesting about her statement is that it parallel’s Malcolm X’s assertion about the natural way out hair is. By bleaching your hair blonde, it’s fueling white supremacy. It’s an acknowledgement that blonde hair looks better, a symptom of internalized oppression. In a way, I do see what she’s saying.
^It depends though. If you’re perfectly aware of that, yet decide to do it anyway simply because you’re in the mood to bleach your hair whatever color, that aspect of internalization is removed.
Are people really upset over what some like 11 year old girl’s opinion is?
I am.
